Application Procedure and Process

1. Application Procedure

Email the following documents to registraroffice.mbts@gmail.com:

a) Duly filled Application Form. Please fill in the form by typing (not handwritten) in order to ensure clarity of writing.

* MBTS Alumni Applying for CTE: Complete only sections A-F and submit a one-page essay on reason for upgrading (<250 words).

b) A testimony describing your conversion experience and growth as a Christian (<500 words).

c) Your conviction of being called into full-time Christian Vocation (full-time student) or why you are interested in pursuing study at MBTS (non full-time student) (<500 words).

d) Photocopy of certificates from previous highest educational achievements (both theological and nontheological) and transcripts (only theological).

e) A recent photograph of applicant.

f) Pay a non-refundable application fee of RM100 (Malaysians & Developing Countries nationality) or USD50 (Developed Countries nationality) by cash at the Finance Office, bank deposit or online transfer, or cheque / money order (payable to “Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary”). Please provide a record of transaction. Do not send cash through postal service. Oversea applicant may contact us on the method of payment before making payment.

2. Evaluation Procedure

a) Application will be evaluated after all documents, including the Letters of Recommendation and Endorsement Letter, have been received. Application will not be processed if the documents are incomplete.

b) Processing an application may take up to 3 months, largely depending on how quickly the Letters of Recommendation are returned.

c) If necessary, applicant will be interviewed, whether in person or online.

d) Applicant will be informed of the outcome, whether approved or rejected. An Admission Letter will be issued to approved candidates (now considered students).

e) Prior to arrival on campus, all residential students are to submit a Medical Examination Report. This is not applicable to non-residential students.

3. Accommodation

a) Couple rooms, male dormitories and female dormitories are available (typically twin-sharing type).

b) Family housing is limited. Special request necessary.

c) Residential students are automatically full-time students.
